Biography
Born in Orsk. Motorsports began at 19 years after the younger brother Nikolai , who was already engaged in motor sports, once drove up to the house on a sports motorcycle .
Engaged in motoball , playing the position of the goalkeeper, then motocross . In 1968 he took part in the championship of the Orenburg region on a speedway on ice, where he was injured and was taken to hospital. In 1970 he took the third place at these competitions.
He studied in Moscow at the Higher School of Coaches, where he met the honored coach of the USSR Vladimir Karneev and the silver medalist of the World Championships Vladimir Chekushev . They largely determined the future sports path Bondarenko. He retrained to a more powerful class of motorcycles (up to 500 cm Β³), took part in the Moscow Championship, where he became the third. After graduating from school coaches moved to Tolyatti , where he settled in the motor club "Kuibyshevgidrostroy" "Lada" . In 1979, Anatoly Bondarenko won all possible gold medals: he became both world champion and the USSR in both individual and team championships, as well as the champion of the RSFSR. His brother Nikolay also played in the team with whom they won the team competition and who became the personal silver medalist. In the final of the personal world championship, Anatoly, fighting against the best racers of the planet, scored 30 points out of 30 possible.
In 1980, Anatoly Bondarenko once again won in both types of the World Cup. In the future, three more times became the champion of the USSR.
In total for a career he won 36 medals of various denominations.
In parallel with performances on the ice, he took part in the traditional speedway, where he was one of the leaders of the Zhiguli team.
Together with his brother Nikolai live in Togliatti , where the son of Nikolai Ilya , who has become the national champion in the team event, is playing in the local speedway team β Mega-Lada β.
