In 1997, he moved to Palmeiras for $ 3 million. In 2000, Parma paid for a player already $ 15 million, but the club could not declare another player not from the European Union , so he rented it to Flamengo . Due to financial problems in the club, he left the team and started playing for Palmeiras again. In 2000, FIFA tried to recognize the player’s contract with Parma as null and void due to the financial frauds of the club and removed the player for 2 months from playing for Cruzeiro , with whom the player entered into a contract.
