Apistogramma nijsseni (lat.) Is a species of ray-finned fish of the cichl family, endemic to black water habitats in the r. Carahuayte in South America . The specific Latin name is given in honor of the Danish ichthyologist Han Nijssen [2] .

DescriptionBeige yellow with blue and purple-red-black border on the round tail. The female is yellow with 3 large black and green spots on the body.
BreedingSpawning is 25 × 20 × 20, 50 × 30 × 30; dH 5, pH 5.5, T 27–28 ° C. Larvae appear after 2 days. Fry swim on the 8-10th day (T 26-29 ° C).
