Athletes from Sierra Leone took part in the 10th Summer Olympics without ever taking part in the Winter Olympics . Sierra Leone athletes made their debut at the 1968 Olympics , and missed the 1972 and 1976 games when they returned to the Olympic family in 1980 and after that did not miss a single Olympic Games. For all the time of performances at the Olympic Games, athletes from Sierra Leone have not won a single medal . On average, 3-4 athletes are sent to the country's sports delegation for each Olympic Games.
