Formed in 2000 in Dallas , Texas , this is the only such populous group of its kind. The exact number of participants is unknown. The band was based on the band Tripping Daisy : after the death of the guitarist Tripping Daisy from an overdose of drugs, the remaining members, led by Tim DeLaughter , decided to assemble a band-orchestra, at that time there were more than 20 people in it.
Style can be defined as Indie .
A lot of people in shapeless hoodies, with trombones, flutes, horns, etc. look very impressive. As for music, itβs rare where you can hear so much solemn collective happiness. The Polyphonic Spree themselves call themselves "choral symphonic pop group."
