Elena Kaliska ( Slovak. Elena Kaliská , born , ) is a Slovak slalom canoist . Participant of the four Olympic Games . Two-time Olympic champion in 2004 and 2008 in canoeing alone. Multiple world and European champion.

Biography
Elena Kaliska was born on January 19, 1972 in the Czechoslovak Zvolen . Elena's hobbies are tennis and music [1] .
In 2007, Elena graduated from Matej Bela University in Banska Bystrica with a master ’s degree [2] .
Career
Elena Kaliska started rowing at the age of seven at a club from Zvolen. Then she began to perform in the club of the city of Liptovsky Mikulas [1] .
Since 2015, her personal trainer is Peter Chibak , she was also assisted by Robert Okorotsky [1] , Olga Leysalova, Vlasta Patochkova, Lyubosh Gertl, Jan Stahera and Jan Prachar [2] .
Elena Kaliska took fourth place at the World Junior Championships [2] . At the age of 17, she fell off a bicycle, after which she had to recover from her left arm injury [1] . Her first adult successes were the medals of the European Championships: bronze in 1996 in Germany and gold in 1998 in the Czech Republic [1] [2] . She participated in the 1996 Olympics , where she became the 19th [3] .
Kaliska gradually improved her results, taking already the fourth place at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney [4] . She reached the peak of her career by 2004, having won four World Cup races, the European Championship and the Athens Olympic Games [2] . In 2005, she won a gold medal at the World Championships in Australia, and in 2007 she became the second [2] .
A year later, at the Olympic Games in Beijing, Elena Kaliska became a two-time Olympic champion [1] [2] .
During her career, she won the European Championships seven times, winning a total of 13 medals [2] .
Rewards
On January 3, 2011 she was awarded the Order of Louis Stur Class I [1] [5] .
