Biography

Club career

Ante Jazic began his football career at the Halifax King of Doneir youth club. In 1996, Ante ended up at Dalhousie University , where Ante played for the local Dalhousie Tigers football team. In 1997, Jazic went to Croatia to play for the club “ Hrvatski Dragovolyac ”, which played in one of the lower divisions of Croatia. As part of the "Hrvatski Dragovolyac" Ante spent 54 matches and scored 4 goals.

In 1999, Ante became a Hajduk player from the city of Split . In his first season, Jazic spent 24 matches and scored 1 goal in the Croatian championship of the 1999/00 season , and his club finished second in the championship, 14 points behind Dynamo Zagreb. In the 2000/01 season , Ante spent only 16 matches in the championship, after which he moved to the Austrian Rapid from Vienna . In Rapida Ante regularly appeared in the first team, for four seasons he spent 107 matches and scored 1 goal.

In 2004, Ante moved to the Russian club Kuban , becoming the first Canadian in the Russian championship [2] . Ante made his debut for Kuban on July 3, 2004, replacing him in the 46th minute in the match of the 14th round of the Russian Championship against Dynamo Moscow, the match ended in a draw 0-0. Altogether Ante spent 11 matches for Kuban.

In his last match, which was held October 23, 2004, against the Moscow “ Torpedo ”, Ante came on as a substitute in the 44th minute of the match, after the first half ended, Ante did not leave the field, but began to warm up, waiting for the second half to begin. After the start of the second half, it became clear that Jazic was injured during the warm-up, so at the 46th minute of the second half he was replaced by Marian Vuka , thus Ante set a kind of record for the season, having spent two minutes on the field after the replacement, after which he was replaced [3 ] . As it turned out later, Yazhich was injured in the back of the thigh; Ante did not appear in the Kuban anymore. According to the results of the 2004 Russian Championship , Kuban took 15th place, thus leaving the top soccer league in Russia. Jazic had to leave the club, as in the first division there was a significant limit on foreign players [4] .

For six months, Ante did not play for any club. June 27, 2006 Ante signed a contract with the MLS club Los Angeles Galaxy . For two and a half years, Ante spent 44 matches for the club. On January 15, 2009, Ante was selected in the draft under number 19 by the Chivas USA club.

Team Career

As part of the Canadian national team, Jazic made his debut on May 18, 1998 in a friendly game with Macedonia , during which time he spent 33 matches in the national team and scored 1 goal.
