N.G. Tolmachev generally shared the views of the "military opposition", but did not agree on the main issue - about military specialists. He advocated their peaceful use in the army. After the speech of V.I. On March 23, 1919, Lenin Tolmachev called for the military question to be raised "as it was put right at the congress by Comrade Lenin [1] ." [2]
At the congress, the military opposition was addressed by V. M. Smirnov. According to him, “bourgeois” military specialists cannot be appointed to command posts in the army, they should act only as advisers. In addition, Smirnov sharply criticized the provision of the Charter of the internal service of the Red Army on greeting ordinary soldiers of higher rank, called it "a relic of the autocratic-feudal system."
