Height 10-50 cm. Differs from Adonis spring fiery red, rarely orange flowers ; corolla petal is always at the base with a black spot. It blooms in late May and June. Flower formula : {\ displaystyle \ ast K_ {5} \; C_ {5-10} \; A _ {\ infty} \; G _ {\ infty}} [3] .
The natural habitat is North Africa , Western , Middle (Aral-Caspian (Lake Barsakelmes ), Tien Shan regions ( Almaty district), Chu-Ili mountains ) and Central Asia , Transcaucasia , China , the Indian subcontinent , Central , Eastern and Southern Europe .
