Biography
Born in a peasant family. Father - Trofim Ivanovich Mazurov, mother - Agafia Ioakimovna [1] .
He graduated from the Gomel Road College (1933), the Higher School of Economics at the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks (1947).
In 1936-1938 - served in the Red Army, then worked in the political department of the Belarusian Railway.
In the years 1940-1941. - Secretary of the Gomel city committee of the Komsomol, then the 1st secretary of the Brest regional committee of the Komsomol of Belarus.
In 1941-1942 - In the Red Army, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was wounded. In September 1942 he was sent to the rear of German troops in Belarus as a representative of the Central Headquarters of the partisan movement with the rank of lieutenant colonel, where until the end of 1943 he worked in partisan formations; was secretary of the underground Central Committee of the Komsomol of Belarus.
In 1943-1944 - Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Belarus.
In 1944-1947 - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Belarus.
In 1947-1948 - in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Belarus.
In the years 1949-1950. - second, then first secretary of the Minsk City Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Belarus.
In 1950-1953 - First Secretary of the Minsk Regional Party Committee.
In 1953-1956 - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Belarusian SSR .
In 1956-1965 - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.
In 1965-1978 - First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR . In 1968, he carried out political leadership of the operation to send troops to Czechoslovakia . [2]
Since 1978 - a personal pensioner of national importance.
Member of the CPSU (b) since 1940, member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1956-1981). Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1950-1979), member of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR (1958-1965). People's Deputy of the USSR (1989).
In 1986-1989 - Chairman of the All-Union Council of Veterans of War and Labor .
He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery .
His daughter Natalia is married to his son I. V. Kapitonov Vladimir [3] .
Memory
On the facade of the house number 36 on Karl Marx Street in Minsk , in which KT Mazurov lived, a memorial plaque was installed [4] . Streets in the Frunze district of Minsk and in the Central district of Gomel are named after Mazurov
Rewards
- Hero of Socialist Labor ( 1974 ).
- He was awarded five orders of Lenin, orders of the Red Banner, World War 1 degree, Friendship of Peoples and medals.
