About album title
Konstantin Meladze [1] :
Contrary to this, no matter what ...
Despite the fact that circumstances force a person to act in one way, he acts differently, contrary to all circumstances.
Such a person lives contrary to conventional wisdom, contrary to fashion and ideology, contrary to any trends, he remains independent and does what his inner voice tells him.Contrary - this is not a protest, not opposing yourself to something or someone ...
Contrary to this, this direction is not outward, but inward.
In a sense, this is stubbornness, upholding oneself in the world; this declaration of the right to be independent of any external rules and circumstances. Our personal and creative autonomy is what Contrary is.

Reviews
| Compared to competing colleagues, the Meladze brothers do elementary more work. Where others to win the charts cost one or two melodic lines and one shock line, the duo unfolds a whole panorama. And a separate topic: Konstantin Meladze is a poet. They talk about him much less than about Konstantin Meladze, the composer, but he never claimed to be the poet’s laurels. The top of the Contrary album is the Foreigner song, which can finally be heard without standing in a traffic jam and half in the ear for morning coffee. The Ukrainian Georgian, who was accompanied by the Rustavi choir in the rhythm of Lezgi, “I am everywhere a foreigner, and I seem to be everywhere,” is now especially impressive. If there is an auteur cinema, then specifically for Konstantin Meladze it would be worth introducing the concept of “author pop”. |
