Biography
Vladimir Vikhrov was born on December 11, 1926 in the family of a military man in the city of Vladimir . He graduated from high school, then studied at the aviation college. At the end of the college, he worked at the Gorky Aviation Plant and at the same time was engaged in a theater studio.
In 1960 he was accepted into the troupe of the Gorky Drama Theater .
Twice Vikhrov was the director of the Gorky Academic Drama Theater - from 1971 to 1973 and from 1988 to 2002 .
Vikhrov combined his creative activity with public. Since 1952 - a member of the Union of Theater Workers of the RSFSR and a delegate to all congresses of the Union of Theater Workers . He was constantly elected to the governing bodies of the STD, was deputy chairman, secretary of the STD of the Russian Federation.
In 1975, V. Vikhrov headed the Nizhny Novgorod organization of the STD of the Russian Federation. With the active participation of Vikhrov, the House of the Actor was built in Nizhny Novgorod .
In 1996, Vikhrov was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Nizhny Novgorod.
He died at the 79th year of his life on November 17, 2005 in Nizhny Novgorod. He was buried in the Bugrovsky cemetery of Nizhny Novgorod. The name of Vladimir Vikhrov is the Nizhny Novgorod House of the actor.
