Title

Initially, "Rudny" is the name of the village of builders of the Sokolovrudstroy trust. Later, the miners began to call him Rudnogorsk. After the construction of the tent camp, it was proposed to be called Seventy-Palatinsk. In official papers, the name of the settlement has changed many times.

It is difficult to say what underlies the name of any locality: more often something very characteristic of it; less commonly, case intervenes. Our city had both. Here is how the first chief engineer of the Sokolovrudstroy trust V. I. Buresh tells about it: “We, the builders, called Rudny the village that they began to build on the site of the future city.” And so they began to write in all documents. The Combinatov’s comrades, by themselves, also called him “Rudnogorsk”, and also so indicated in their papers. In the first half of 1955, the director of the plant under construction - that was the name of the plant at that time - N.F. Sandrigailo and our trust manager Y. M. Gimmelfard spent about four months in Moscow and Almaty for the construction of the plant and the city. For them, we remained in place - the chief engineers. We will prepare, as it happened, a general letter to some authority, put in it the date and your address "Rudny Village, Kustanai Region"; carried for signature to the chief engineer of SSGOK Kandel. He crosses out the “Village of Ore” and writes his own - “Village of Rudnogorsk” and will always say: “It will be more optimistic!”

When the paper was prepared by the combine workers, the trustees crossed out the "Village of Rudnogorsk" and wrote their own - "Village of Rudny." To the builders, this name seemed more original and significant: after all, for the sake of ore, in fact, such a grandiose construction was started. "
It is hard to say how long this “war” would have lasted if it had not been for the arrival of the special correspondent of the magazine “Ogonyok” V. M. Polynin at the construction site. He examined the quarry, the village of geologists Pavlovsky and Komsomolsky, got acquainted in detail with the construction of the SSgOK and the beginning of the construction of the city, spent a lot of time with the first builders ...
An article by V. M. Polynin that appeared in the fourteenth issue of Ogonyka (1955) was called Novoseli Rudnogo. It was she who drew a line under the “war” of the choice of the name. The article has the following words: “This city is not on the map, it is not even registered in the official lists, it does not yet have a name, but the pioneers of the new Magnitogorsk consider that the name Rudny is the most suitable for him!”
So, with a light hand of Polynin, letters flew to the construction site from all over the Soviet Union, at which the address stood - the city of Rudny! When they began to prepare documents for a new building, the status of a working village, the dispute resumed. Just at that time, N.F. Sandrigailo was called to the director of the Magnitogorsk Combine. Already on the road, he gave the last orders and advice. And suddenly he asked: “What is the name of the workers' settlement?” Probably then the city will also be called! ”
- So, after all, they gave him the name and the status of the city - Ore. From all over the country letters are pouring into our city. It turns out that the people have already decided this question, why should we break our heads over it, ”said V.K. Lyutikov, one of the first seven employees of SSGOK, the head of the planning department.
- Well then! - said N.F. Sandrigailo, - I decided, so I decided. And we will propose to the regional executive committee and the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan. "This proposal was supported by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR and issued a decree in August 1956, which stated: to classify the settlement during the construction of the Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky mining and processing plant in the Kustanai district of Kustanai area, assigning it a name - "Worker village of Rudny. Add to the line of the working village of Rudny settlement Komsomolsky."

History

City History

On February 18, 1949, pilot Mikhail Grigoryevich Surgutanov , flying over the Sarbay tract, drew attention to the strange behavior of the compass . A few months later, geologists and geographers arrived at the magnetic anomaly. So it was discovered Sokolovsky iron ore deposit . The discovery and exploration of the field is attributed to geologist V.K. Pyatunin.

In the summer of 1954, the government decided to begin construction of the plant and the city under it.

In May 1955, the first builders arrived. The managing trust was J. M. Gimmelfarb, and the chief engineer V. Sh. Bures. Miners geologists and builders were first located in the village of Komsomolsk. In addition, tents were installed, as well as temporary prefabricated panel houses were built.

Already in 1955, the first 4 thousand people arrived on Bolshoi Turgai by Komsomol tickets. The largest tent camp was in the area of the Komsomol cinema. It consisted of seventy tents, and therefore went down in history as Seventy-Palatinsk. Other tent camps were located on the site of the 39th quarter, near the village of Komsomolsky, in the bakery area, new settlers lived in more than 200 tents - 20 people each. Tent camps had their own streets, the name of which spoke for themselves and which still exist in the city: Stroitelnaya, Pionerskaya, Komsomolskaya, Ukrainian, Kievskaya and others.

The future city was laid 3 kilometers from Alekseyevka. The first master plan was developed in 1953 and was designed for 22 thousand people. But already in 1954 this plan was revised, the population was increased to 30 thousand people.

In the summer of 1956, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR decided to give Rudny the status of a working village. Also, the Komsomolsky settlement was included in the line of the working village.

On August 30, 1957, the working village was transformed into a city of regional subordination.

Over time, the city of Rudny grew into a large industrial and cultural center of the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan .

The volume of industrial production for 12 months of 2009 amounted to 145.6 billion tenge, or 76.1% of the fact of last year, which is mainly associated with a decrease in world prices for metallurgical products.

During the reporting period, the production volume of the city-forming enterprise of SSGPO JSC amounted to 128.3 million tenge
