TinEye was created by Canadian company Idée Inc. May 6, 2008 [1] .
Features
TinEye lets you find images on the Internet that look like a sample image. To obtain the result as a sample, even a miniature file with a low resolution is sufficient [3] .
According to statements, in the future it is planned to subscribe to notifications of the appearance of new copies of the image on the Internet and the simultaneous search of several images [3] .
The TinEye search index has over 35 billion images [4] .
There are plug-ins for browsers Firefox , Internet Explorer , Opera and Google Chrome [5] , as well as a bookmarklet for any browsers [6] [7] .
- With the help of TinEye, the identity of an unknown soldier was determined from a photograph taken in Normandy . I managed to find a file on one of the American sites with a full list of people depicted in the photographs [3] .
