Biography
He graduated from school in St. Petersburg (1896), Higher Technical Evening Courses in Helsingfors (1910–1912).
From 15 years old he worked as a pupil's apprentice, mechanic. In 1902, he joined the RSDLP , kept a safe house, participated in the revolution of 1905-1907, for which he was persecuted by the Russian authorities, was exiled to the Turukhansk region.
He participated in the civil war in Finland on the side of the Reds, was Commissar for Military Affairs in the Council of the People's Commissioners of Finland , Commander-in-Chief of the Finnish Red Guard.
In emigration to the RSFSR, from May 1919, he was High Commissioner of Food Trains, Commissar of the Headquarters of the Petrogradsky Fortified Area, was a member of the Revolutionary Tribunal of the Petrograd Military District [1]
At the IV Congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (July-August 1921) he was elected a member of the Central Committee and the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.
From 1922 to 1923 at party work in Finland.
In 1924-1925 - Deputy Head of the Commercial Department of the Yugostal Trust in Kharkov .
Since 1927 in illegal party work in Finland. He was detained by the authorities, sentenced to 15 years in prison.
In May 1940, the USSR was liberated and transferred.
In 1940–47, the vice-chairman of the SNK of the Karelo-Finnish SSR.
In 1947-1955 - Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Karelian-Finnish SSR .
In 1947-1951 - deputy head of the historical section of the Research Institute of Culture of the Karelian-Finnish SSR .
From February 2, 1950 - Junior Researcher at the Institute of Party History under the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of the KFSSR - a branch of the Marx-Engels-Lenin Institute.
He was buried at the Sulazhgorsky memorial cemetery in Petrozavodsk [2] .
