Northern Kordofan ( Arabic: شمال كردفان ; transliteration: Shamal Kurdufan ) is one of the 18 provinces (provinces) of Sudan .

The administrative center is the city of El Obeid .
History
In 2005, in accordance with the Naivash Agreement , the region included the northern districts of the abolished Wilayat Western Kordofan [1] [2] - En-Nuhud ( Eng. Nhehud ) and Gebeish ( Eng. Ghebeish ).
In July 2013, the province of Western Kordofan was restored.
Administrative division

The province is divided into 7 districts ( districts ):
- Bara ( born Bara );
- Jebrat al-Sheikh ;
- Saudari ( English Sowdari );
- Um Rawaba ( English Um Rawaba );
- Gebeish ( English Ghebeish );
- Sheikan ( English Sheikan );
- En Nuhud .
