Geographical position
The village of Borovaya is located on the right bank of the Uda River , the villages of Petrishchevo and Gusinaya Polyana are adjacent upstream, the village of Vodyanoye is located 1 km downstream, the village of Temnovka (Kharkov region) and the village of Vasishchevo are adjacent to the village of Zvidki .
A railway passes through the village, stations Zvidki and Borovskaya-Yuzhnaya .

History
- The first written mention of the village should be considered the evidence of Moscow clerks in the description of the Muravsky Way in the "Book of the Big Drawing" . They describe in 1625 on the river. Udah well Borovoy. Most likely, it was this well that gave the name to the subsequently formed village.
- 1660 - Date of foundation [1] .
According to the inventory of 1750, an antimins on a white canvas, consecrated by Saint Joasaph, was given to the temple (already built for the second time). In 1782, the Zmiev Archpriest Joasaph Pogorlevsky consecrated the third church in Borovoye, which was built from oak wood plates in a new place [2] .
Population
The main population is the Old Believers of the Pomeranian consent. This agreement is characteristic in that they elect their mentors from their members at the general meeting of the community. A long time ago they recognized a prayer for the king, serve in the army and read a prayer for their soldiers serving in the army. Residents themselves call themselves "Old Believers", but not Old Believers and explain that only "we are true guardians and bearers of the old faith in Christ." In 2005, out of 752 households in the village, 250 are Old Believers [3] .

An 11-year-old school operates in the village - the Borovskaya secondary school of the I-III steps named after S. Zakora [4] .
