Basel ( lat. Basellaceae ) - a family of dicotyledons, included in the order Pink flowers , includes four genera and about 80-90 species.

The most important from an economic point of view, the species are Ulluko tuberiferous and Basel white (Malabar spinach). The first is cultivated in Central and South America for edible tubers . The second is cultivated in the countries of South and Southeast Asia , as well as in Suriname for edible leaves .
Childbirth
- Anredera - Andredera . Creepers from tropical regions of North, Central and South America.
- Basella - Basel . 5 species from Africa, leaves and young shoots of some species are eaten.
- Boussingaultia - Boussingolia . This genus is often combined with the genus Anredera .
- Ullucus - Ullyuko . Monotypic genus The only species - Ullyko tuberosus ( Ullucus tuberosus ) - is grown in the Andes , its tubers are an important food for local residents.
