Dmitry Alexandrovich Serkov ( September 26, 1981 , Ryazan - August 2, 2007 , Dagestan ) - Hero of the Russian Federation , captain , commander of the assault group of the 1st platoon of the 1st group of the 1st Red Banner Special Forces "Vityaz" of the Separate Orders of Lenin and the October Revolution Red Banner Division of the operational assignment of internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia .

Biography
Mother - Galina Anatolyevna Melikova, military doctor. Stepfather - Colonel General Sergei Alimovich Melikov [1] .
Since August 1, 1999 - on active duty. In 2004, Dmitry graduated from the St. Petersburg Military Institute of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia .
He served in the special unit "Vityaz" in the following positions:
- assault team officer
- senior officer - commander of the assault group.
In 2005-2007, he took part in counter-terrorism operations in the North Caucasus region .
On August 2, 2007, Dmitry Serkov died in the Republic of Dagestan during a combat mission.
In the submission for conferring the title of Hero of Russia to Serkov, it was said:
“Since January 2005, Captain D. A. Serkov has repeatedly participated in the elimination of illegal armed gangs in the North Caucasus region. During this time, he completed more than 98 service and combat missions, of which he led search teams 63 times, and was part of the support groups 35 times. All the tasks performed by Captain Serkov were highly effective and were always rated "excellent" by the command of the detachment and the command of the Joint Group of Forces (Forces) in the North Caucasus Region. "
He was buried at the Nikolo-Arkhangelsk cemetery (plot 75a) in Moscow .
Captain D. A. Serkov has a commemorative bust on the Glory Square in Reutov, Moscow Region.
The name of captain Serkov was given to the aikido club of Reutov [2] .
