Biography

Peter McNichol was the youngest of five children. He studied at the University of Dallas and the University of Minnesota ( Minneapolis ).

While studying in Minnesota, he performed at the Guthrie Theater for two seasons. Then he moved to New York , where he played in a non-Broadway performance based on Beth Henley 's play Crimes of the Heart , for which he won the Theater World Award .

In the early 1980s, McNichol got into the movies, starring in two different films: in the science fiction film “ Dragon Slayer ” (1981) and in Alan Pacula 's drama “ Sophie 's Choice ” (1982). McNicole appeared in films a lot without leaving the stage: on Broadway, he participated in performances based on Shakespeare's plays “ Richard II ”, “ Romeo and Juliet ” and “ Twelfth Night ”.

He played vivid supporting roles in the films " Ghostbusters 2 " [5] , " Dracula, dead and pleased with it ," " Mr. Bean ."

In 1997-2000, McNichol played the eccentric lawyer John Cage in the television series " Ellie McBeal ", for this role he received several awards, including the Emmy Award. He starred in the series “ 24 hours ” (2007) and “ 4isla ” (2005-2010). For several years, Peter has been working on the directorial debut of Salvation on Sand Mountain . In this picture, he is also the author of the script, producer and leading actor.

In 2015, Peter will appear in the series " CSI: Cyber " [6] .

Personal life

Lives in Los Angeles with his wife Martha Sue, whom she married in 1986; they have a son growing up. The actor’s hobby is a bagpipe game.
