Group History
Previously Creative
Founders Peter Patos, Ralph "Albi" Albers and Rainer Schulz have already gathered musical experience in various groups from 1980 to 1990, including the Irish Duo and the X-Rated trio (drummer of the trio Wolfram Kellner later joined Fiddler's Green and played with the group from 1995 to 2000. In 2001, he moved to the JBO group).
In November 1990, the group appeared at the Erlanger Newcomer-Festival newcomer festival in Erlangen and immediately took second place.
In 1991, the group added new members: Stefan Klug (accordion, bowran) and Tobias Rempe (violin). Their first album, "Fiddler's Green," was released the following year under the label "Deaf Shepherd Recordings". In 1993, the album " Black Sheep " brought the group more and more recognition outside their native region of Franconia.
In 1995, the band acquired a new violinist and drummer and released the album "King Shepherd" , again on their own label. He reached No. 103 on the German album charts. The EP "Make Your Your Mind" (1996) and the fourth album, "On and On" (1997), were released on the label "Polydor / Universal" . "On and On" reached number 61 on the German album charts.
Before recording the album "Spin Around" in 1998, the whole group went to Los Angeles to get a lot of new experiences. It was this that helped them create a new album: to convincingly cross musical boundaries, sometimes with a spirit of playfulness and irony. Thanks to this, the album "Another Sky" (2000) reached No. 2 in the top 50 albums of German Internet charts.
In 2000, violinist Tobias Heindl joined the band, and the next year, drummer Frank Juce (formerly a member of The Merlons). Fiddler's Green has released their long-awaited first DVD: Celebrate! to mark the band’s 1000th concert. In addition to exciting live performances outdoors at Hoheneck Castle, the DVD offers bonus content documenting Fiddler's Green's story. The band celebrated its 15th anniversary with a second DVD, "Jubilate!" .
New Era
April 30, 2006 Peter Patos played his last concert with Fiddler's Green. He left the band to implement other musical projects. For the group, the “new era” came when the singer and guitarist Patrick "Pat" Przivara (member of the ORKX group since 2001) joined her. It was first introduced to the public on May 17, 2006 at a concert in Kammerspiel in Ansbach. "Drive Me Mad" , the first album with a new collective, reached No. 74 on the German charts.
Significant success for Fiddler's Green came after the release of the album " Winners & Boozers ". He reached No. 7 on the German charts and stayed in this position for five weeks.
In 2015, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the group released the collection "25 Blarney Roses" , which contains hits and several new tracks. Reached number 30 on the German charts.
Fiddler's Green's latest work is "Devil's Dozen" (2016). The album reached number 22 on the German charts and lasted there for one week. [one]
