De Grigi, Gianjacomo

San Giorgio Maggiore Cathedral

Gianjacomo Dei Grigi ( Italian: Giangiacomo dei Grigi ) - Venetian architect and sculptor . He worked from 1540 to 1575 . Came from Bergamo . He studied with his father, who was also an architect and sculptor in Venice .

Between 1558 and 1560 he finished the decorative elements of the Scuola San Rocco . Dei Grigi unreasonably ascribe the construction of the Palazzo Grimani to the Grand Canal .

In 1567 - 1568 he worked with Andrea da Veche and others on the construction of the Cathedral of San Giorgio Maggiore on the project of Palladio .
