The Kalmius district of Mariupol (until March 3, 2016 - Ilyichevsky [1] ) is the largest by area administrative-territorial unit of the city of Mariupol . Located in the north of the city, in the district are the largest industrial (ferrous metallurgy, engineering) enterprises of Mariupol.

Content
History
- It was organized from working villages around the modern Mariupol Metallurgical Plant named after Ilyich in the 1920s , the center of which until the end of the 1920s was a village at the A and B plants named after Ilyich (later - the village of Ilyich Plant ).
- On July 1, 1927, by a resolution of the central administrative-territorial commission, the Ilyich type urban settlement “A” and “B” was included in the city line of Mariupol.
- On June 27, 1940 , by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR , the existing (since 1937 ?) Ilyichevsky district executive committee was approved in the city of Mariupol.
- March 3, 2016, by the decision of the city council, the Ilyichevsky district was renamed Kalmius [1] .
