History

The former name of the street is Central .

In 1975 , when the first anniversary (decade) of Surgut was celebrated, the street was renamed in honor of the discoverer of Surgut oil , the famous drilling foreman Nikolai Borisovich Melik-Karamov .

Current status

One of the longest streets of Surgut.

On the street there is a monument to the courage of fishermen during the Great Patriotic War , a monument to the first Komsomol members and the Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord .

Along the street is the square of the Pioneer Geologists.

On the street, along with modern houses, new buildings, houses were preserved - samples of old wooden buildings.

Interesting Facts

N. B. Melik-Karamov himself lived in house No. 92 on Tsentralnaya Street. Currently, a decision has been made to install a memorial plaque in his honor on the house (the plaque was available earlier, however, it was dismantled during the reconstruction of the house).
