Lipopeptides

Lipopeptide - a molecule of a lipid covalently linked to a peptide , a bacterial lipoprotein . Bacteria synthesize a large number of lipopeptides, some of which are natural antibiotics . The group of lipopeptide antibiotics includes daptomycin and surfactin . The immune system of higher organisms recognizes bacterial lipopeptides due to toll-like receptors belonging to the subgroup "TLR2" ( TLR1 , TLR2 and TLR6 ).
