Pan-african flag
The Pan-African flag , also called the UNIA flag , the African American flag or the Black Liberation Flag, is a flag consisting of three equal horizontal stripes: red, black and green. This flag was originally created as the official flag symbol of the African race by members of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and the African League of Communities (UNIA). The organization formally accepted this in Article 39 of the Declaration of the Rights of the Negro Peoples of the World of August 13, 1920 in the United States .
Color Values
- red: blood that unites all people of the African race and lost in the struggle for Freedom;
- black: black skin color as a union of ethnic groups in a nation;
- green: Africa’s natural wealth.
