Karpatt is a French - Catalan musical group from Paris , performing songs mainly in the genre of "new chanson" and Catalan "new song" , while taking inspiration from a large number of musical sources: bossa nova , salsa , reggae , blues and jazz manush .

The core of the group consists of Fred Roll (Frédéric Rollat) - singer , composer and guitarist , his brother Olivier Roll - percussionist and Gaetan (Gets) Lera (Gets Lerat) - solo guitarist , which is joined by various double bass players and percussionists.
Prior to founding Karpatt , Fred Rolla played in the band Yan et les Abeilles . The song "Mademoiselle" released on the album A l'ombre du ficus is the initial leitmotif of the song "Mam'zelle Angèle" (Yan et les Abeilles, La tournée des Ardoises album ).
The recording of the album Dans le caillou was attended by Mano Solo and Richard Lornac .
Before touring Tunisia in 2005 , the band worked on the release of their third album, Dans de beaux draps , which was released in April 2006 .
