Anne-Sophie Mutter ( German: Anne-Sophie Mutter , June 29, 1963 , Reinfelden , Baden-Württemberg , Germany ) is a German violinist. Herbert von Karajan played a large role in her career and formation. It is currently one of the most sought after and highly paid violinists in the world.

Biography
Anne-Sophie Mutter first started playing the piano at the age of 5, but soon switched to the violin. She studied with Erna Honigberger , and after her death (1974) with Aida Stuka . In 1975 she made her debut with the orchestra of the University of Tubingen under the direction of Alexander Shumsky . At the age of 13, Mutter was released from school when Karayan invited her to perform with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra .
In 1977, she participated in the Salzburg Festival , and also performed with the English Chamber Orchestra . At the age of 15, Mutter made her first recordings ( Mozart's concerts), together with Karayan and the Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 1980, Mutter performed with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra , and 5 years later she was awarded the honorary fellow of the Royal Academy of Music in London . In 1988, as part of a North American tour, Mutter performed at Carnegie Hall .
In 1989, Mutter married Detlef Wunderlich and has two children from him (daughter Arabella and son Richard). Wunderlich died in 1995 of cancer . [1] In 2002, she remarried, this time to pianist, conductor and composer Andre Previn , who was 34 years younger than she was. [2] However, on August 21, 2006 , the couple officially announced their divorce . [3]
In October 2006, Anne-Sophie Mutter announced that she would leave the stage at the age of 45 (that is, in 2008 ), [4] but a month later she claimed that her words were misunderstood and that she would play, while he feels the strength "to bring to the music something new, something important and something else." [5]

Interesting Facts
- Mutter owns two Stradivarius violins (The Emiliani ( 1703 ), and Lord Dunn-Raven ( 1710 )), as well as Regazzi's violin.
