Andrei Ivanovich Korobitsin (Korobitsyn) ( 1904 [1] - October 21, 1927 ) - Soviet border guard who died in battle while defending the Soviet- Finnish border on October 21, 1927 [2] .

Biography
Andrei Ivanovich Korobitsin was born in the village of Kurakino of the Totemsky district of the Vologda province (now the village of Korobitsyno, Syamzhensky district of the Vologda region ) into a poor peasant family. In the border troops since 1926 . Member of the Komsomol since 1927 . In February 1927, Korobitsin was sent to serve on the 4th outpost of the 1st commandant's office of the Sestroretsk detachment .
On October 21, being in a solitary border guard, he came across four armed border violators (according to the official version - saboteurs who were preparing a terrorist act in Leningrad ) and entered into battle with them, in which he was mortally wounded. In the same battle one of the intruders was wounded [3] .
Memory
Korobitsin was buried at the place of honor of the Sestroretsky cemetery - Mount Heroes. On the basis of the decision of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council dated May 3, 1976 No. 328, the monument to Korobitsin at the Sestroretsky cemetery is a cultural and historical heritage of the regional level ( cultural and historical heritage of the Resort District of St. Petersburg ).
- The outpost where the hero served, in the same year was given his name.
- In 1937, in honor of Korobitsin, his native village of Kurakino in the Syamzhensky district of the Vologda region was renamed.
- In 1948, the village of Peyvilya was renamed in the Vyborg district of the Leningrad region .
- On October 20, 1957, a monument was unveiled at the site of the death of Korobitsin, on the border of the former Sosnovsky and Vsevolzhsky districts of the Leningrad Region.
- In 1958, the Sestroretsk Tool Plant built a pioneer camp in Dunes, which was named after Andrei Korobitsin. [4] .
- The pioneer organization 435 schools of the city of Sestroretsk bore the name of the hero.
- In 1966, a monument to Korobitsin was erected in his native village.
- The name of the border guard was assigned to the ferry-icebreaker of project 1731 "Andrei Korobitsyn" .
- In 1965, Border Street in the village of Aleksandrovskaya in the city of Sestroretsk was renamed Korobitsyna Street [5] .
- The name of A. I. Korobitsyn was assigned to the border post in the city of Svetogorsk, Leningrad Region, Vyborg Border Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation . On the anniversary of the Hero’s death at the outpost, solemn mourning events are held with the participation of the delegation of the city of Sestroretsk [6] .
