Family

Born in the family of the physicist Konstantin Savvich Golovanivsky and the philologist and editor Emma Nikolaevna Golovanivskaya (both are graduates of Moscow State University). The father of Maria Golovanivskaya’s grandfather was the famous Ukrainian writer and translator Savva Evseevich Golovanivsky , in whose house in Koncha-Zaspa near Kiev she spent her childhood.

Education and research

In 1985, after graduating with honors from the philological faculty of Moscow State University , she could not stay in graduate school at the department of Romano-Germanic philology, where she defended her diploma because of her "unreliability", which was expressed in friendship with the daughter of the disgraced academician Vladimir Nikolaevich Toporov , however was noticed by professor Vladimir Andreevich Zvegintsev and became an applicant at the OSIPL Department of Structural and Applied Linguistics founded by him. At the same time, Maria worked for two years as a senior editor of the exhibition department at the Fundamental Library named after Shuvalov at Moscow State University, where she was sent for distribution.

In 1989 she defended her thesis, under the leadership of the head of the Department of Structural and Applied Linguistics, Alexander Evgenievich Kibrik . The topic of the dissertation is “Component analysis of the communication situation”. After defending her dissertation, she began working at the Department of French (now French Linguistics), first as a laboratory assistant, then as a senior teacher.

In 1996, she defended her doctoral dissertation at the Department of Romano-Germanic Philology on the topic "French mentality from the point of view of a native speaker of the Russian language" (the dissertation published the year before was the eponymous monograph).

In 1998 she received a scientific award to them. I. I. Shuvalova II degree.

Literary and journalistic activities

In 1991, Maria Golovanivskaya’s literary debut was the prose work “Acquaintance. Private Collection ”, published by the Moscow Worker Publishing House. During the 1990s. her stories were published in the literary magazines New World , October , Youth , Rodnik, Golden Age, etc.

Since the mid-1990s - Member of the Union of Writers of Moscow. The author of six novels. Golovanivskaya’s works were included in the short list of Nos and Made in Russia awards, in the long list of Pyatigorsky and Yasnaya Polyana awards.

In 2016, she organized a good text school of literary skill with Tatyana Tolstoy . In July 2016, Tatyana Tolstaya left the School.

In the early 1990s, Golovanivskaya published articles in the Russian Telegraph newspaper.

Since 1996, working as a special correspondent and deputy editor-in-chief of the Vlast magazine, being published in the Kommersant newspaper and the Dengi magazine. Over six years of work in various editions of the Kommersant Publishing House, more than 400 articles and notes have been published.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, she wrote dozens of very popular author columns for the Russian version of Vogue magazine (“In my opinion” section).

In 2002-2003 She was the chief editor and scriptwriter of the “Summer Residents” program on TV-6, which received several TEFI awards in various categories.
