Story
During the First World War , the protagonist of the film, a former metallurgical worker who arrived in France as part of the Russian expeditionary force, destroys the German sniper . From the documents of the murdered, he learns that his opponent in the past was a worker in a metallurgical plant. This leads him to the idea of the need for solidarity between the workers and the class distinction with their boss - the captain of the tsarist army.
After the war, the soldier returns to Soviet Russia , where he begins to work as a depot foreman at a railway border station. The station is attacked by bandits . Participating in repelling the attack, the brigade leader kills the leader of the attackers, in which he recognizes his former commander.
