Team uniform

The team was created in 1980 and previously performed under the names Reynolds, Banesto, Illes Balears. The team became famous in the 1990s, when it was called Banesto, while such racers as the five-time Tour de France Miguel Indurein winner, the two-time winner of the Vuelta of Spain Alex Zulle , and the mountain climber José Maria Jimenez spoke for her.

Since 2011, the title sponsor of the team has been the Spanish telecommunications company Telefónica , which owns the Movistar brand.
