The Sensational Alex Harvey Band

For some time, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band were considered part of the glam movement , but very soon they began to create eclectic, diverse music with blues elements, - surf , - shock - and symphonic rock . The determining factor in the development of the group was Harvey himself with his eccentric manners, rich imagination and a comprehensive musical worldview [1] .

Two singles brought commercial success in the UK group: β€œ Delilah ” (version of the hit Tom Jones , # 7, 1975) and β€œThe Boston Tea Party” (# 13, 1976) [2] .

Alex Harvey died suddenly in Belgium after the concert of his new band The Electric Cowboys on February 4, 1982 .

In 2004 (shortly before that), the Sensational Alex Harvey Band took 5th place in the list of the greatest Scottish bands of all time, ahead of, among others, Nazareth , Texas and Primal Scream [3] . The group continues to perform to this day with: Hugh and Ted McKenna, Chris Glen, Max Maxwell.
