The early years
Buble was born in Burnaby , British Columbia , into a family of fisherman of Croatian and Italian descent.
As a child, Michael often listened to his grandfather's collection of jazz recordings and now he emphasizes the importance of his grandfather in promoting his musical tastes. He recorded three independent albums, and one of them was a gift to his grandfather. Buble received two Genie Award in 2000 for two songs he wrote for the film Here's to Life . Michael's first national television work was the 1997 Bravo Award! - A documentary, “Big Band Boom!” Directed by Mark Glover Masterson.
Debut Album
Michael's career began when Michael Maxuini noticed him at a business party with former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney . Maxini liked the performance, and Buble gave him his album, which he, in turn, gave to listen to Mulroney and his wife. Then, in 2000, Michael was invited to sing at the wedding of Brian Mulroney’s daughter, Carolina, where he performed “The Ballad of Mackie Knife ” from the “Three Penny Opera” by B. Brecht and C. Weil .
At the wedding, Mulroney introduced Buble to legendary producer David Foster . Foster signed a contract with Buble, in the framework of which was recorded (in 2003) the album Michael Bublé . The album includes classic Anglo-American pop songs, including “Fever”, “The Way You Look Tonight” [written by Jerome Kern with lyrics by Dorothy Fields], “For Once in My Life”, “ Moondance ” by Van Morrison and “You 'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine' by Lou Rawls . Barry Gibb from “ Bee Gees ” performed backing vocals in the cover version of the hit of this group, “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?”. This version of the song made the name Buble famous in many countries.
Michael Bublé was released by Warner Bros. Recorded on the eve of Valentine's Day in 2003 . The disc hit the Canadian charts, but was especially popular in South Africa . He then succeeded in Italy and ultimately reached the top of the charts in the UK, USA, Australia and other countries. The album reached the top 50 on the Billboard 200 album chart in the USA. His version of George Michael 's song “Kissing a Fool” was released by the single and topped the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks billboard chart. The song “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?” Also reached number one on the adult music charts.
Buble received the 2004 Juno Awards as the opening of the year. His debut longplay was nominated as the best album of the year, but he lost to Sam Roberts.
It's Time and Let It Snow
At the end of 2003, the Christmas album ( EP “Let it Snow”) was released. The title track reached the pinnacle of Australia's music charts. Buble released a live album and video in April 2004. Let it Snow was re-released in the US on October 9, 2007.
Buble 's second album, It's Time , was a breakthrough for him. He reached 7th position on the Billboard 200 , 2nd position on the ARIA Album Charts in Australia, and 4th position on the UK Album Charts (UK). The song "Home" became a hit.
