Aircraft Description
According to the scheme, the aircraft is an all-metal freestanding monoplane with a high wing position and fixed gear . The fuselage is designed according to the semi-monocoque scheme; large cutouts for glazing, which occupy a significant area, and two large doors, providing easy access to the cockpit and easy exit of the aircraft by parachutists, are made in its bow. The single- wing wing , in combination with the skin of the wing toe, the longeron forms a powerful caisson , which perceives all types of aerodynamic loads. In the root part of the wing box, fuel tanks with a total capacity of 190 liters are placed. The wing has a powerful mechanization consisting of a slit flap , a hanging aileron and a fixed slat , which provides good takeoff and landing characteristics. Aircraft chassis - tricycle, with tail support, wheel suspension - lever. Wilga-35 has a paired control that allows you to use it as a TCB . Aircraft supplied to the USSR were equipped with a special lock for towing gliders .
Operation
In the USSR, Wilga-35 was actively used in DOSAAF for towing gliders . In 1983, on this type of aircraft, Polish pilots won first place at the World Orienteering Championships.
