Quassia ( Latin Quassia ) is a genus of flowering plants of the Simarubov family , which includes up to 40 species of trees and shrubs common in the tropical regions of the planet.

Meaning and Application
A decoction of parts of Quassia is a good remedy against pests. For the same purpose, powdered bark of a plant is used.
The wood of Quassia is used on an industrial scale for the manufacture of insecticides and medicines, as well as as a substitute for hops in the preparation of ale and beer .
