Henry Eddington's father, Anthony Eddington, was the personal physician of William Pitt Sr. The peculiarity of the position of the father served as a close friendship in the childhood of Henry and William Pitt Jr.
Concluded in March 1802, the Amiens peace with France negatively affected the state of the country. The financial crisis, the loss of continental markets, and crop failures led to famine and social unrest.
