Flag of gagauzia

“The flag of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri) is a rectangular canvas consisting of three colored stripes arranged horizontally in the following sequence from top to bottom: blue (azure) - 60 percent of the flag’s width, white and red equal to 20 percent in width.

Golden stars are arranged in an equilateral triangle on a blue background. The distance from the center of the first star to the shaft is 30 cm, the distance from the center of the same star to the edges of the blue strip in width and the distance from the centers of the stars with respect to each other is 30 cm. The diameter of the circumscribed star circumference is 15 cm. The relationship between width and length the flag is 1: 2. "

The first flag of Gagauzia was adopted with a declaration of independence from the Moldavian SSR ^[2] , with the formation of the Gagauz SSR as part of the USSR ^[3] (the decision was not supported by the Union Government). On October 7, 1992, Gagauzia again announced its secession from Moldova. and later adopted a new flag similar to the current one, but without stars, to which in 1993 three stars were added located vertically at the flagpole. The flag took a modern look in 1995.

The Law on the Flag of Gagauzia allows the use of a simplified version of the flag, without stars and white stripes, for non-governmental (for example, personal and commercial) use. For government use, only the national flag is valid.
