Princess Martha Bibescu , room. Marta Bibescu , French creative pseudonym - Marta Bibesco , fr. Marthe Bibesco , nee Marta Lucia Lahovari , Princess Mavrokordat , room. Marta Lucia Lahovary ( January 28, 1886 , Bucharest - November 28, 1973 , Paris ) is a Romanian and French writer, public figure in Romania, and the owner of the Mogosiai Palace. Throughout her life, she kept diaries, which amounted to 65 volumes.

Biography and Creativity

Of the noble princely family, Mavrokordato , was personally acquainted with representatives of prominent royal dynasties. Kaiser Wilhelm II from the moment of their acquaintance and over the next 15 years wrote quite passionate letters to her. At 17, she became the wife of the first Romanian aviator, Prince Gheorghe Valentin Bibescu .

While traveling in Europe, she began to publish travel notes that attracted the attention of European readers. Novels from the life of Romania attracted the attention of the largest writers in Europe ( Proust , Rilke , Valerie , Cocteau , Max Jacob , Francois Moriac , Saint-Exupery and others), many of whom became her friends and acquaintances.

During the Second World War, she conducted secret negotiations aimed at Romania's withdrawal from the war. After the occupation of Bucharest by Soviet troops, she left Romania with a diplomatic passport. Lived in exile, continued her literary career. Valentina's daughter and her husband were able to leave Romania in 1958.

Recognition

Laureate of several French literary awards. In 1955 she was elected a foreign member of the Royal Academy of French Language and Literature of Belgium .
