This breed has existed for many centuries, and it was not possible to establish exactly when exactly it arose, however, it is known that even in ancient times representatives of this breed guarded large herds, and later the French aristocracy began to use them to protect palaces. Pyrenean Mountain Dog Puppies

Pyrenean mountain dogs are very large representatives of their kind: their height reaches seventy-five centimeters in females and eighty centimeters in males. The average body weight is fifty-five kilograms. It is a strong, harmoniously built dog of strong constitution. Appearance leaves the impression of power and elegance at the same time. The coat is long and thick, the color is pure white or white with gray or yellowish markings. The head is elegant, wedge-shaped, without gross features and dampness. The eyes are dark brown, almond-shaped, with a special - soft, intelligent and thoughtful expression - (the so-called "Pyrenean look").

Character

Pyrenean mountain dogs differ in intelligence and ingenuity, perfectly amenable to training, but require a certain perseverance when raising. The fact is that these are thinking, initiative dogs that were bred for independent work and are used to assessing the situation and making decisions. Pyrenean mountain dogs need space, they don’t want to live in the city. Representatives of this breed are friendly towards children and pets, devoted to the family in which they live, have a heightened sense of their own territory and very good guard qualities. These are strict, but not vicious dogs. Excessive aggressiveness is considered a vice.
