History and Attractions
The current Krasnoputilovskaya street was born in the first half of the XVIII century as part of the route to Moscow and Novgorod . Since the 1890s, it was divided by the modern Chervonnaya Cossacks Street into two driveways: Tsarskoye Selo Street. and the Red-Kabatsky road.
After the revolution of 1917 Tsarskoselskaya st. It was renamed Detskoselskaya, as the name of Tsarskoye Selo changed accordingly. In 1923, the street was named after the hero of the Civil War, the Bolshevik Jan Yakubenis , who died in the battles for Petrograd and was buried in the Theological Cemetery [2] .
Due to the presence of two streets with the same name in the city (in the same 1923, 1st Spasskaya Street on the Petrogradskaya Side was also named after Yakubenis - see Yakubenis Street ) on December 3, 1953, the name of Krasnoputilovskaya was assigned to the Yakubenis Street by the Executive Committee of the City Council. in honor of the Putilov factory , formerly known as the "Red Putilovets". In early 1964, part of the Southern Highway was annexed to Krasnoputilovskaya Street. Since then, it has gained a modern location.
To the east of the intersection with Chervonny Cossacks Street there is a military burial site “ Yuzhnoye ” (44 Krasnoputilovskaya St.).
