General information
The station is a junction and is located on the 320.3 km line Kushelevka - Petrozavodsk . A branch Yanisyarvi - Lodeynoye Pole (belonging to the Volkhovstroevsky region) with a length of 219 km branches off from the main railway line. It is unique in that it is one of the few in Russia where the semaphore-wand system still operates.
The northern section of this road Yanisyarvi - st. Uuksu was built in 1930, when this territory belonged to Finland [2] . The increase in traffic volume required the alteration of the road’s upper structure, which has been going since 2010 - sand ballast was replaced by gravel, wooden sleepers were replaced by reinforced concrete [3] .
