Description
The station is located in the historical center of the village Kadui ("Old Cadui"). There are 2 low passenger platforms: side and island. At the same time, the side platform (No. 1), on which the station building is located, is rarely used to stop passenger trains that pass through the station along the second and third route past the island platform (No. 2). The first way, as a rule, is used for the sludge of service equipment.
The station stops most of the passenger trains passing through it, sludge and cargo train maneuvers are made.
In the late 1990s, for the convenience of passengers, the Kaduy Bus Station, previously located one kilometer from the station, was moved to the railway station building.
History
In the autumn of 1901, construction work began on the Zvanka (now Volkhovstroy) - Cherepovets Petersburg-Vologda railway section on the territory of the volost The railway was originally supposed to go 7-8 kilometers north of its present location, the stations should have been located at the villages of Kadui and Uita . Subsequently, it was decided to pave the road a few kilometers to the south, which allowed to do less intersections with rivers. The design name of the station was not changed, and it was called “Kadui”, which was transferred to the village , which later became the center of the same name district .
In the winter of 1902, the delivery of stone and other building materials was organized. The stone was mined and trimmed in Andogog , from where it was taken out ready-made on horseback to the places of laying. The first trains passed through the station in 1905 .
The station, two barracks for railway workers, along with the houses of the brothers Petrov and Frolov became the first buildings of the future settlement . The station began to attract people and subsequently the settlement that grew up near the station received the name “Kadui” and the status of the district center , also called Kaduisky [1] .
At the eastern entrance to Caduy, there is a sign in the form of a support for the railway contact network , emphasizing the station's historical contribution to the development of the village .
In 1999, the Babayevo - Costa section together with the Kadui station was electrified (AC voltage 25 KV ) [2] [3] . The official opening of the movement on the electrified section took place on August 1, 1999 [4] .
