The club debuted in League I in the 2001/02 season. In the 2010/11 season, Gas Methane took 7th place, but when Timisoara was deprived of a place in League I and European cups due to debts, Gas Methane replaced it in the UEFA Europa League draw. In the playoff round, the club lost the Vienna “ Austria ” in the sum of two matches and dropped out of the tournament.
