In the depot, steam locomotives of the FD series [2] , P36 , L and others were operated.
From July 1953 to February 1954, H8 tests were conducted at the Zlatoust depot. According to the test results, a number of changes were made to the design of the electric locomotive and the experimental batch of seven electric locomotives (from 002 to 008) was received at the depot. During the trial operation, which lasted until 1956, depot workers made suggestions for improving individual components of the H8 electric locomotive. A significant contribution to the improvement of the electric locomotive was made by the engineers of the depot Zlatoust A. B. Dashkevich, L. A. Kolokolnikov, A. I. Otkidach, V. K. Polulekh, N. G. Sukhoshchavin, A. M. Khripunov, and train drivers P. I. Panchenko, V.I. Safronov. [2] [3]
Electric locomotives H8 were renamed VL8. Their operation in the depot continued until 1970 , after which they began to be replaced in operation by electric locomotives VL10 . Currently, VL10 electric locomotives and their modifications, 2ES6 series electric locomotives, as well as 2TE10V diesel locomotives and ChME3 shunting diesel locomotives are in operation at the depot [3]
