Japanese fluffy crab [1] , or fluffy freshwater crab [2] ( lat. Eriocheir japonica ) is a species of crab found from the Amur estuary and rivers of the northeastern part of Sakhalin to Syangan ( Hong Kong ) and Taiwan .

It feeds on various small mollusks , as well as dead fish. During fodder migrations, it can climb up rivers up to 50 km.
The width of the shell is up to 6 cm. Depending on the environment, it lives from 1 year to 4 years.
