Biography

Born December 3, 1926 in the city of New Bug .

He graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory , a student of Julia Eidlin . In March 1943, he took part in a concert of young musicians as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the conservatory in Tashkent [2] .

Concerted since 1945. He won second prizes at the Bach International Competition ( Leipzig , 1950) and Queen Elizabeth ( Brussels , 1951). He also performed in the piano trio with Pavel Serebryakov and Mstislav Rostropovich .

Since 1949 he taught at the Leningrad Conservatory, since 1966 - professor, since 1970 - the head of the department. Among the students of Wyman, in particular, Mikhail Gantvarg , Zinovy ​​Vinnikov , Philip Hirschhorn , Alexander Kantorov , Sergey Stadler , Thomas Sanderling and others.

He died on November 28, 1977 in Leningrad .

Among the recordings of Wyman are violin concerts by JS Bach , Antonio Vivaldi (including The Four Seasons ), Joseph Haydn , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Jan Sibelius , sonatas Bela Bartok , Ludwig van Beethoven , Eugene Isaiah , Sergei Prokofiev , Maurice Ravel , as well as works by Soviet composers ( O. Yevlakhova , B. Arapov , B. Klyuzner , A. Machavariani , etc.).
