  • January 10 - Supporters of the ousted Honduran President Manuel Bonilla , sailing from New Orleans, with the support of the US Navy cruiser Tacoma, captured the port of Trujillo on the Honduran coast [1] .
  • The Caspian oil and gas province has been opened.
  • January - the strongest earthquake of magnitude 10 in the city of Verny (now - Alma - Ata). Mention of the disaster can be found in the newspaper "Semirechenskiye Vedomosti", in the novel by Yuri Dombrovsky "Guardian of Antiquities."

February

  • February 18 - the largest collapse of 2.2 billion m³ occurred on the Murghab River , resulting in the formation of a natural dam and Lake Sarez .

  • March 2 - Vice-President of the Senate of France Ernest Monis became the Prime Minister of France [3] .
  • March 25 - the murder of Andrei Yushchinsky , a student in the preparatory class of the Kiev-Sofia Theological College . Authorities (including those represented by the Minister of Justice) exerted pressure on the investigation and promoted the adoption of a religious-ritual version of the murder. The Jew was charged with the Jew Mendel Beilis , but the jury acquitted him. The investigation into the murder and the subsequent trial, called the “ Beilis case, ” were widely covered in the Russian and international press and had a huge public outcry [4] .
  • March 28 - Honduran President Manuel Davila resigned in accordance with the agreements reached by the warring parties on board the US Navy cruiser Tacoma. Francisco Bertrand Barayona became interim president. In the fall, he held elections in which US-backed former president Manuel Bonilla won. [5]

April

  • April 27 - The Huanghuang Rebellion in China . Huang Xing and his associates captured the governor's residence in Guangzhou, but were not supported by the local garrison. Killed 72 rebels, Huang Sin fled [6] .

May

  • May 3 - German state secretary Alfred von Kiderlen-Wechter outlined in the memorandum a plan for military intervention in Morocco in order to demand territorial concessions from the colonies from France [7] . The plan is approved by the Kaiser [8] .
  • May 10 - Nicaraguan President Juan José Estrada ordered the arrest of opposition-minded General Louis Mena , supported by the United States . The army refused to comply, Estrada resigned and emigrated to the United States. The President of Nicaragua was Vice President Adolfo Diaz [9] .
  • May 14 - in Bekeshchab, the Zilinsky brothers killed the leader of the Peasant Party of Hungary Andras Achim [10] .
  • May 20 - The Chinese government signed an agreement with a consortium of British, French, German and American banks, transferring the entire construction of railways in China to the hands of foreigners. The country began the movement of "railway protection" [11] .
  • May 31 - the British liner Titanic , the largest passenger ship in the world , was launched.

June

  • June 23
    • French Prime Minister Ernest Monis resigned [3] .
    • The meeting of Albanian representatives in Gercha adopted the Red Book , the program for the autonomy of Albania [12] .
  • June 27 - a government was formed in France headed by Joseph Cayo [13] .

July

  • July 1 - The German gunboat Panther entered the Moroccan port of Agadir in the morning (the so- called Panther jump ). At noon, the German ambassador Shen told the French government that the Panther would guarantee German interests in Morocco until peace reigned there. The beginning of the Agadir crisis [14] .

August

  • August 18 - negotiations between Germany and France to resolve the Agadir crisis are interrupted, Europe is on the brink of war [15] .
  • August 19 - A Russian-German agreement on Persia and the Baghdad Road was signed in St. Petersburg . Russia agreed to the construction by Germany of the Baghdad railway and the construction of a line from Khanekin to Tehran with the right of Germany to seek a concession for it in the event of Russia's refusal. France was inferior to Germany 250 thousand km² in French Congo , having received 15 thousand km² in German Cameroon and Germany recognized its protectorate over Morocco [19] .
  • November 14 - the secret expedition of 1911 by V.K. Arsenyev to combat the Khunkhuzes and poachers in the Ussuri region ended.
