Rusakov Ivan Vasilievich - ( September 25 ( October 7 ) 1877 - March 18, 1921 ) - Russian pediatrician, participant in the revolutionary movement in Russia, participant in the December and suppression of the Kronstadt uprising .

Biography

Ivan Rusakov was born into the family of a former serf peasant who was redeemed shortly before the abolition of serfdom [1] . According to some information, the place of birth was the village of Prudki, Podolsky Uyezd [1] , according to others, the Podsolnechnaya station , where my father worked as the manager of the Gregory factory [2] .

Soon the family moved to the Tver province, where his father received a position at the Zalogin factory near Tver. After graduating from the Tver Gymnasium in 1895, Ivan Rusakov entered the medical faculty of Moscow University , where he began to actively participate in the illegal Social Democratic circle and in student gatherings, for which he was arrested and expelled from the university in 1899. With great difficulty, he managed to recover in 1900 and the next year to obtain a doctor’s diploma [2] .

After graduating, I.V. Rusakov worked first at Olginskaya, then at Rostokinskaya hospital in Moscow. In 1905 he participated in the Moscow armed uprising , was arrested and exiled for three years to Yalutorovsk in the Tobolsk province . In exile, Rusakov was engaged in medical activities, conducted scientific and research work, headed the bureau of mutual assistance of the Yalutor exiles, created working cooperatives - carpentry and repair of agricultural implements, arranged literary evenings.

After the exile, Rusakov returned to Moscow and worked in the Moscow City Children's Outpatient Clinic and the Meshchansky City Free Hospital for visiting patients, simultaneously led party propaganda, became one of the leaders of the Bolshevik faction in the Society of Russian Doctors in memory of N. I. Pirogov . After the February bourgeois-democratic revolution of 1917, I. V. Rusakov became a member of the Sokolniki district committee of the RSDLP (b) and the Executive Committee of the Council of Sokolniki district.

After the October Socialist Revolution of 1917, Rusakov was a member of the medical board of the NKVD of the RSFSR, chairman of the Sokolniki regional council of workers and soldiers’s deputies, a member of the Moscow Committee of the RCP (b), a member of the Presidium of the Moscow Soviet, a member of the Council of Medical Colleges, one of the editors of the Council’s printed organ - Izvestia Sovetskoy Meditsin ". At the initiative of Rusakov, Sokolniki Park was organized in Sokolniki District, the first forest school and nature lovers station, the first kindergarten were created [3] .

In 1919-1920, I.V. Rusakov became the authorized officer of the sanitary department of the Southern and South-Western Fronts. Upon returning from the front, he worked as head of the Moscow department of public education. In March 1921, Rusakov volunteered to suppress the Kronstadt uprising , where he was commissar of a naval hospital; On March 18, he was captured by disguised rebels and executed .

He was buried on Red Square in the Necropolis near the Kremlin wall . Posthumously awarded the Order of the Red Banner .

In Soviet times, the name of I.V. Rusakov was immortalized in many names of geographical objects and enterprises:

  • House of Culture I.V. Rusakova in Moscow, architect K.S. Melnikov , 1927-1929.
  • Rusakovskaya embankment , embankment of the Yauza River in Moscow.
  • Rusakovskaya street , a street in the north-east of Moscow.
  • Tram depot named after Ivan Vasilievich Rusakov .
  • Children's City Clinical Hospital № 2 named after I.V. Rusakova. In the 1990s, the hospital was returned to its historical name - Children's City Clinical Hospital of St. Vladimir . [four]
