Club career

Landro grew up at Nantes Football School and has long been his main goalkeeper. His debut came in a match with Bastia in 1996 and ended in a 0-0 draw. After 3 years, the goalkeeper won the French Cup with his club, and after a season he became its two-time owner. Perhaps the happiest moment in Landro’s career came in 2001, when Nantes became the champion of France.

In the 2005/06 season, the Frenchman played his last year in his native club and left him in connection with the end of the contract and the desire to perform at a higher level. For Nantes, Landro spent 335 matches in the championship of France. He signed a four-year agreement with the capital Paris Saint-Germain and became its captain, since then playing regularly for Parisians.

On June 29, 2009, Michael moved to Lille , signing a three-year contract [2] . On December 6, 2012, Landro and Lille terminated the contract by mutual agreement of the parties due to the high salary of the goalkeeper [3] [4] .

On December 23, 2012, Landro signed a six-month contract with Bastia [5] , which he subsequently extended. On December 4, 2013, Landro set a new League 1 record for the number of matches played - 603 career games in the French championship [6] .

On May 12, 2014, Landro announced his retirement. [7] He is the champion of League 1 in the number of matches played (618).

International Career

Landro spent several matches for the youth team, which included went to the World Cup in 1997. For the main national team, Landro spent a little more than ten matches, remaining in the shadow of Fabien Barthez and Gregory Coupe . Despite this, he took his first number at the 2006 World Cup, and although he did not play a single match there, he became the silver medalist of the championship. In 2008, he did not get into the team's application for Euro 2008 .

Game Style

Landro had an excellent reaction, often helped out the team after leaving one on one and was a specialist in repelling eleven-meter strikes. During his career, the Frenchman recaptured more than 30 penalties.
